Reflections on the American Tragedy

An Open Letter To All World Leaders
I am an ordinary citizen or was until the events of Tuesday, September 11th, 2001. I have a family, children and a grandchild, and live a very simple life. The purpose of my letter this day is to voice my thoughts as a mother and grandmother, as a person, but most of all as a human being.
The events of last week have changed me profoundly as I know they have most other citizens of this country, but what I am hoping to accomplish with this letter is to point out a better alternative than a war that could bring about the end of the world, as we know it.
If the leaders who are all working diligently right now to bring about the end of terrorism in the world would take a look at other alternatives, other than force on a whole people or a whole country, maybe they would see that if they can come together now instead of letting this tear them apart this world could become a much better place.
In a world where people have love and respect for one another, where the people who have a lot help those who don't, where we can all live together in peace; there is no room for people like Osama Bin Laden. He is what and who he is because the world allows for abominations like him to exist. He feeds on the misfortune of others, the poor, and the wretched, those who don't have anything to hope for. We as a world can change this, but only as a whole. All countries of the world need to unite now to rid us of the cancer that has allowed people like Osama Bin Laden to live, and to cause harm. It is a plague upon this planet and should be treated as such. If all the people of the world can agree to try to cure cancer and aids and all the other deadly diseases that exist in the world, why can't we agree to rid the world of this new plague.
I implore the people in power to hear these words and try to overcome their differences, whether they be color, religion, social standing whatever, none of that matters anymore. We are all people and this lesson is a one-time shot. What we do with it will definitely change the world but will it be for better or for worse?
I believe we have a chance to change it for the better right here and right now, but we need to be united. Not just the United States, not just the NATO countries, but all countries. Put our differences aside and help each other.
No matter what you call your God we are all connected and as such we should stand together as a world!!!!
It was a round world the last time I looked!
