We pray for the Pope's continued safety and well-being, and continued progress with our modern world.
You need to start someplace, right?

We were highly pleased to hear of Pope Francis' comments on members of the gay community in the priesthood. While not as far as we would have liked to hear, it is a small step in the right direction. Clearly some will not be welcoming of these comments but we must recognize that this is the first such step in this direction to be so publicly made by someone at the pinnacle of authority in the RC church.
We pray for the Pope's continued safety and well-being, and continued progress with our modern world. You need to start someplace, right? This week marks the 13th anniversary of passing of Dr. Leo Louis Martello into the after life. It seems like it was just a short time ago.
We remember Leo at this time as we reflect on the recent US Supreme Court ruling regarding the Defense of Marriage act and the ability of many more gay couples to legally wed. Leo was a champion of the rights of individuals as well as gay rights in his day, so it is appropriate that this anniversary, and these current events seem to mesh. Jeffrey Justice It is with deep regret that we announce the untimely passing of Jeffrey Justice, a long time psychic who was known to the Salem community. Additional details were not available at this posting. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones at this troubling time. Six years ago this week, Shawn Poirier passed into the Sumerland. It was a troubled time for him, and for those who loved him.
We remember his passage at this time and hope that all those who loved him the most, will have memories of the good times, and embrace them in their daily lives. In honor of Shawn, Lori Bruno is sending a $50 donation to St Jude's Hospital in memory of Shawn. Others may be similarly moved. Just a week ago the Catholic church elected a new Pope. Jorge Cardinal Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, Argentina will take the name of Pope Francisco I (Francis).
So far, there is a suggestion that this is a man of the people, and while his religious perspective is traditional and conservative, he appears to have a specific mission to those who are poor. While the jury is still out with respect to any long-term observations, there is a suggestion that this Pope will remember the people most in need. As such, this will be a welcome, if only a partial, change. WILLIAM MICHAEL PIRO - at 10 days old, January 27th. Cherished infant son of Michael A. and Julie A. (Sherman) Piro of Tewksbury. Dear grandson of Maureen Lonergan of Billerica, and our own dear friend Susan Piro of Saugus, and the late William A. Sherman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial calling hours at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Friday evening, February 1st, from 5 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted Friday evening at 7:30. Interment is private. Donations may be made in Will's memory to Children's Hospital, Attn: Donations, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115. Panera Cares is a new idea in food eateries where a person can eat and drink and leave a donation. A suggested donation list is posted. There are no cash registers. Those who need a meal and cannot afford one, can eat here with dignity.
We salute the Panera Bread company for the founding of the Panera Cares organization and this new concept in giving back to the community. Story here: http://tinyurl.com/paneraboston It was just one year ago, on January 17, that our dear friend Rev. Ed Peruzzi passed over into the Sumerland unexpectedly. We remember his soul, his life, his wit, and well-spoken nature, and hope that he will soon be reborn into his people once again. We miss you Eddie.
We also remember Dana and Karen Nevis, and Joan Rapp who took in Ed's adopted children and made them their own. Their kindness at this troubled time will help the kids on their path to adulthood. We know that Ed would be proud of how they are growing up, and we know he looks down and watches over then all the time. We mourn the passing of Tina Theresa 'Kali" Mangelus who crossed over into the Sumerland on December 15, 2012. She was the mother of our friend Deborah Mangelus.
May her soul find peace in the afterlife and be reborn into her family again. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families who have experienced this tragic and unnecessary loss in Newtown, Connecticut. We will never understand the "why" of such things.
May the Goddess and God hold and cherish the souls of the loving departed children and teachers that were lost, and bring comfort to the families as they pass through this time of such monumental grief. We remember you. It is with sadness that we offer news on the passage of Reverend High Priest Richard Ravish of Salem, MA.
He passed into the afterlife on the morning of September 15, 2012 Richard had been in a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. First initiated into the Wiccan priesthood in 1970 e.v., and then welcomed as an Elder into an Alexandrian & Hereditary lineage family in Kent England in 1986 e.v., Richard was one of the original "Witches of Salem". Alex Sanders also was kind enough to contribute guidance and training to him, both in St. Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex and in correspondence, and more recently, also Maxine Sanders. He also held degrees in other Craft traditions, magickal disciplines, and was an accomplished Ceremonial Magickian. He had recently been awarded clergy status in the Trinacrian Rose tradition for his work in the pagan community. He was the co-founder of White Light Pentacles/Sacred Spirit Products, a well-established distributor of pagan products, and NuAeon, a retail store and web-outlet on Salem’s Pickering Wharf waterfront. In 2001, he and his wife Gypsy Ravish took over the operation of the Temple of Nine Wells (TNW), one of Salem’s first witch church organizations, founded in the early 90s with others. TNW is currently an affiliate chapter of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church. He is survived by his wife, renowned pagan singer and musician, Gypsy Ravish, and his children and step-children. We would ask all of the magickal path to keep the innocent people of Syria in your thoughts and prayers as the ongoing violence in that nation continues. Many countries now see this as unacceptable and are pressuring the government to stop. A magickal push would be helpful of course. Please light a candle for peace. Today marks the 90-day observance of the passing of our brother, Edward Peruzzi. Please remember him in your own way.
See our page here:
http://trinacrianrose.weebly.com/edward_peruzzi.html It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of one of our number, Rev. Edward "Ed" Peruzzi of Salem, MA.
Ed passed into the Summerland suddenly this afternoon, January 17. He was just 58 years old. Ed is survived by his partner, "Gee," two adopted sons; George and Jay, his sister and mother. As we wrote this, final arrangements were not as yet available. We will post them when they become available It is with regret we advise of the passing of Thomas Hick, beloved brother of Rev, Janet Howecroft of our number, after a prolonged illness.
We shall recognize him posthumously as clergy this month. We deplore the sensless killing of a Saudi woman for the alleged practice of witchcraft, especially since there are no specific laws in that nation against such. Superstitious religious law has acted here, resulted in a beheading.
See the following for the story from CBS news http://tinyurl.com/saudi-execution Amina bint Abdul Halim bin Salem Nassar, was condemned in al-Jawf province, having been, according to the Saudi interior ministry, a practicing witch. Such senseless killing due to ancient superstitions have no place in the modern world. We have added information to our home page and our SPAN page for a special holiday giving effort to the Home for Abused Women and Children (HAWC) on the Massachusetts North Shore.
This year HAWC is specifically asking for donations of unrestricted funds to help with families basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and heat. Details on the SPAN page available from the navigation bar. It is with great joy that Our Lord and Lady of the Trinacrian Rose Church and our affiliate, The Temple of Diana, share in the celebration of the passage of a Gay Rights Marriage law in New York State.
We honor all of our brothers and sisters who will now have an opportunity to participate in same gender unions, which our church has recognized for many years - well before any law. We find this both curious and interesting that the passage of this law comes at the time of the anniversary of the death of Dr. Leo Louis Martello (June 29), who was an active proponent of gay rights in his lifetime, and who was present at the "Stonewall" incident. Leo organized the first "Witch-In" in Central Park, which the City attempted to prevent. More of that story is available from our biography of Dr. Martello under our Memorials link We commend the New York legislature for recognizing that human rights, and constitutional rights extend well beyond the boundaries of specific religious cultures, and that our laws must evolve to meet those basic human needs. We share in mourning of the loss of the mother of Christopher Penzack, well established author of books on the wiccan path. A loss is never an easy thing to experience, but we look forward to rebirth in the next life.
